Introduction

We assume the situation that we separate MOFs (Metal-Organic Frameworks), which can absorb methane gas, from the liquid in which feces dissolve by filtration. In this way of filtration, it should be useful if the MOFs can come together and change their scale by self-assembly.

In this experiment, we prepare Gold Nanoparticles(**GNPs**) instead of MOFs. We made them be modified with complementary DNA strands of two types. The purpose of this experiment is to confirm that they actually assemble when mixed them.

Materials and Methods

We tried to check the assembly at various surface densities of DNA strands, changing the mixing ratio of DNA and GNPs.

No color change was observed in any of the samples. It is considered that agglomeration did not occur, or if it did occur, the degree of aggregation was small.

The possible objects are aggregate GNP-DNAs, monomeric GNP-ssDNA, GNP-dsDNA with extra complementary DNA bound to GNP-ssDNA, GNP with no DNA, ssDNA, and dsDNA. The order of molecular weight is GNP-DNAs>GNP-dsDNA>DNP-ssDNA>GNP>>dsDNA>ssDNA.
